currently listening to: ani difranco | napoleon (live) MAN i love this song. totally forgot about it. i love unearthing hidden gems like these when my playlist just goes random. its fab. about to work on the presentation, thought i'd drop by here and say hi. hi. had a fabulous weekend. looking forward to going home this weekend. actually looking forward to getting dressed up for friday too (i figure i should look hott for my presentation!) dear msn, quit jerking around and work already. you're annoying everyone. love, melissa this week im a giant loser, just working on my presentation. it'll be all done friday. can't wait! i thought about seeing if i could put it off a week, but then i'd have to do it while my prof was there, and well, this is a better idea. haha. i really want to play some guitar right now. ani always does that to me. sigh. time for work, i guess. not much else to say as of late, kids. mostly because im no fun because of this presentation. but that will change. oh, that will change. drastically. next week. :)

cutest baby ever. 
jalyn playing the piano. she's being held by my sister, and when you hold her just above the keys, she hits them with her feet (she's into kicking right now) and she mashes the keys. SO CUTE. she looks around for approval and then when you laugh she stops and looks coz she wants to know whats going on! 
truly her father's daughter, thats for sure. she just loves putting a beer bottle into her mouth and holding onto it. 
my brother-in-law holding the baby. so cute. someday, it'll be his own! hahaha. oh man. she's the cutest kid EVER.

currently listening to: edge 102 Sthis article is well worth a read. i hope its right, and that the response from the NHLPA WILL change. bettman and goodenow are idiots and i hate them both. here's hoping that some wheels start turning (what with the two of them not being there). my back is very sore today. im not sure why. or how. i think maybe at the gym last night? but who knows. i work a good 3 hours today in lambton. for this, i am excieted. its only $27. but its also $27. this is a good thing. stu came down last night for a quick visit before he leaves for jamaica. he's going for 3 weeks. then staying in florida for a week. then home for a bit, and then off to calgary. oh i wish i had money. i'd be in bc in a HEARTBEAT. i miss my sam. and my katie. :( tomorrow night is dinner at the red papaya with matty and karrie and beccah. this will also be very good. all in all, its been a pretty stellar week. can't complain. and you?

currently listening to: the sounds of football on tv. weak. awww, i wish i was actually in guelph tonight because krista (from work!, and whom i have a lot of good chats with) emailed me -- she's having a girls night and she invited me to come over! how thoughtful! i will have to do something with her. maybe an evening of red papaya food and garden state, since thats what i rave about to everyone i talk to these days. haha. instead, i am just as excited tonight to go to l-dot and meet mare! and hang out with nicole! and perhaps see john and d again! sounds like fun times. livejournal is down. for prophetsoul, clearly THIS is the advantage of having two journals! haha. today my mom and i took my computer in. watch it be something dumb that i could have figured out on my own. tho i doubt it, i tried just about everything. at least upgrading the firmware on it made the actual player work again. colour me unimpressed when all of a sudden the PLAYER wouldn't work. dear me. i was not a happy camper that day, at least not until i stayed away from the computer and started to forget about my mp3 player woes. after dropping off the comp, we hopped over to reitmans. there was a cute skirt for $7 and i liked it but mom said it didn't look the greatest (there was pucker in the fabric at the front when i wore it) but i am still so into it, i think i may need to buy it. i can just imagine how cute it would look with black tights, my black dress shoes and just a black tee or something. oooooh i get excited just THINKING about it! man i should have picked it up. it was adorable. im hopping over to old navy this evening to pick up some things for a friend of mine who just had a baby! and, you know, maybe something for me, since i've already set aside money for my trip to the states out of this pay! i feel so fiscally responsible right now, haha. which is why i need to go spend money, CLEARLY. lol. not much else to write about. perhaps i'll go read some newspaper. yes. i believe i will. :)

currently listening to: esthero | song for holly i like it here a lot now. this design is wicked. i love it. that frou frou song is the best. i can reassure you that all the lies you tell yourself are true... 18 hour day tomorrow. i think im ready. i hope p-lo calls me tomorrow. : oh so hott. you all love this. now its bedtime. 15 minutes long distance with some girl in the US with a southern accent, and she can't do a damn thing, because the player itself is absolutely fine. sigh. so now my mp3 player itself is broken. it won't stay powered on. apparently, if i update the firmware, its not an issue, but i can't udpate the firmware because my computer doesn't recognize the mp3 player when its hooked up. a cycle of bad. i quit.

currently listening to: martina sorbara | all in good time maybe i should start posting here again. i kind of miss it. it is, however, in DIRE need of a redesign. haha. + i love martina sorbara. + and itunes. itunes is fabulous. + i hate coughing. + and all forms of colds. + garden state is one of my favorite movies of all time. i need to buy it. + i want my parents to get their new furniture now. so i can go home and sit on it. + i can't wait for that moment. + i also can't wait for girls weekend. where we watch movies and hang out. those are ridiculously fun. i think i'll invite nicole. i hope she can withstand all the sugar. haha. it would be very fun to have her join us. + i miss nicole. :( + my song is done. which means its time for me to go to bed now. goodnight.

currently listening to: the used | in love and death i really miss uplister. remember uplister? my roommate in third year introduced me to that service. it was so wicked. you could make playlists and have them saved and other people could view them and leave you comments, and you could see other peoples' playlists and it was a fantastic service. man i miss that service. there should be something similar to it. it would easily get plenty of use and it would be utterly fabulous. i just know it. sigh. |
